DMS Integration 4 min read

Supported DMS Platforms

ScanIt Vehicles is DMS-agnostic and works with every major Dealer Management System. Learn about supported platforms and how the integration works.

Supported DMS Platforms

ScanIt Vehicles connects to three DMS platforms today: CDK, DealerTrack, and Auto/Mate. Your inventory pulls automatically from whichever your store runs, so scanning reconciles the physical lot against your live DMS list.

CDK Global

CDK Global is one of the biggest DMS providers, serving thousands of stores. ScanIt Vehicles ties into CDK Drive for vehicle records and inventory, so your scan data lines up with what your DMS shows.

DealerTrack

DealerTrack (a Cox Automotive product) is used at many stores. ScanIt Vehicles ties into DealerTrack for stock control and inventory, using its certified integration for steady data exchange.

Auto/Mate

Auto/Mate is a DMS known for being easy to use. ScanIt Vehicles is an OpenMate-certified partner, so your inventory and scan data flow between Auto/Mate and ScanIt Vehicles automatically.

Why It Works the Same on Every DMS

No matter which of the three you run, ScanIt Vehicles works the same way. That gives your store some real wins:

  • No retraining when you switch — If you move between supported DMS platforms, your staff already knows ScanIt Vehicles. The scan flow, reports, and steps stay the same.
  • Same process at every store — Dealer groups often run different DMS at different stores. ScanIt Vehicles gives you one way to run physical inventory across all of them.
  • Keep your hardware — Your handhelds and gear stay the same when you switch DMS. No new hardware needed.
  • Don't see your DMS? — We keep adding partners. Contact us and we'll tell you where your DMS stands.

What If You Switch DMS?

Changing DMS is a big job. But ScanIt Vehicles makes the move smoother for your inventory team:

  1. Tell IPS support — Let us know your switch timeline. We'll set up ScanIt Vehicles for your new DMS.
  2. No hardware changes — Your scanners, printers, and PCs keep working as before.
  3. Data stays safe — ScanIt Vehicles keeps 18 months of scan history apart from your DMS. Your past data is safe through the switch.
  4. Staff keeps working — Your lot staff, managers, and sales team use the same screens they know. Only the DMS link in the background changes.

How It Connects to Your DMS

ScanIt Vehicles links to your DMS through a server on your store's network:

  • Local server setup — A ScanIt Vehicles server is put on your network, next to your DMS server
  • Automatic data flow — When you sync, your scans go to the ScanIt server and reconcile against your DMS inventory list.
  • Two-way sync — ScanIt reads vehicle records from your DMS. It also writes new records back for check-ins and postings.
  • Secure link — All data stays on your local network. No vehicle or customer data goes over the internet.
