Getting GM Invoices
ScanIt Vehicles links to GM's invoice system. Your team can pull up any vehicle invoice in seconds. No more digging through file drawers or waiting for faxes. The feature is in the main menu on any PC at your store.
How to Pull an Invoice
- Open ScanIt Vehicles — Launch the app from any PC on your network.
- Go to Invoice Retrieval — Pick "Invoice Retrieval" from the main menu.
- Enter your search — Search by VIN or stock number.
- View the invoice — The full invoice shows on screen with all items, options, and prices.
- Print or export — Send it to any network printer or export it to your DMS.
Search by VIN or Stock Number
Two ways to find invoices:
- VIN search — Type the full 17-digit VIN for the exact invoice. Best when you have the VIN handy.
- Stock number search — Type the stock number to find the vehicle and its invoice. Faster when working from your stock list.
Both give the same full invoice data. If no results come up, check that the VIN or stock number is right and that it's a GM vehicle.
Print from Any PC
Invoice printing isn't locked to one PC. Any PC on your network can pull and print invoices. This means:
- Sales managers can print invoices at their desks
- Finance can pull invoices without leaving their office
- Service can check original gear and pricing
- You can print copies to any network printer
Sending Invoice Data to DMS
You can also send invoice data right into your DMS. This cuts double entry and keeps your DMS records matching the maker's invoice.
- Pull the invoice — Search and display it as shown above.
- Click "Export to DMS" — Hit the export button on the invoice screen.
- Confirm the post — Check the data that will go to your DMS and confirm.
- Check in DMS — Open your DMS and make sure the data looks right on the vehicle record.
